Things to do at Winchester Bay.

Pictured here is the Umpqua River Light House, one of Oregon's many beautiful lighthouses.  It is located the mouth of the Umpqua River, in Winchester Bay, Oregon.

Last month we visited Winchester Bay (located on the western edge of Douglas County, Oregon) and stopped to eat at the Anchor Grill which is right at the Salmon Harbor Marina.  We tried the Fettucine Alfredo and the Fish and Chips.  The Chips were very unique, home-made and tasty.  Anchor Grill was recommended to us by Rick Mason, a Charter Boat captain whose office, Salmon Harbor Charter Fishing, is right next door to the Grill.  Rick also showed us his boat, the "Miss Debbie."

If its your first time in the area, you should also check out the Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.

If you prefer RV Camping, there is a RV park just inland from the Marina, called Salmon Harbor RV Park (website: www.salmonharborpark.com )

I will keep exploring, and soon will be posting more things to do in the Winchester Bay area.
